As a nation with different background and religion, Palestinians wanted a state for its nation. In the film, the protagonists seek to satisfy their nationalistic ideas of a state for Palestine conducted a suicide bomb in Tel Aviv to anger the Israelites. This action in the film sent the message that Palestinians were ready to take even more agrression measures to regain their terriroties. In “Once Brothers” the struggle for nationalism and two seperate states is viewed as the two nations break off from Yugoslavia because of their national differences.
