Patrick Stillson: My Father, My Hero

When you think of a hero, what do you think of? Superman?Spiderman? Ironman?Well, my father,Patrick Stillson comes to mind.He has inspired me like any superhero ever could.Patrick Stillson was born on December 25,1770 to his parents Kay and Ronald Stillson of Indiana. He spent most of his childhood in Indiana, and when he was a middle schooler, he was forced to move to Marshall for his father's work. He attended Marshall the rest of his life, and also graduated from Marshall high school. During his life, as a child through adulthood, he has inspired me so much. My hero,Patrick Stillson, has shown me that in life you should always try your hardest, never to give up, and to treat others the way you would like to be treated.He has shown me this by living through a poor childhood,living through life without a college degree, and how he works hard every day.

But he has taught me that in a special way. After he graduated high school, he did not move on to college. He graduated and earned a job at the local grocery store bagging groceries. After bagging tons groceries, he finally had enough money to build a house to start his family. He did not have any prior knowledge of knowing how to build a house, because he did not attend college. So, He faced multiple problems from electrical to foundation.After a long 2 years he finally finished the house.We still live in this house today!This process was long and hard,it showed me that when you are faced with a challenge, you can't give up!Throughout a challenge,you have to push yourself because the end result will be worth it.Also, throughout the building of the house, he had only a few people helping him.So,he had to keep a positive attitude and treated everybody right by following the golden rule of treating others the way you would want to be
