Patrick Maloney: A Short Story

A nightmare come to life.
One hailed a hero, Mary Maloney, a mother of one who was previously recognized as Woman of the Year last month at Dahl Bay’s award ceremony, is facing twelve years in prison for the murder of her husband, Patrick Maloney, chief at the Dahl Bay Police Department. The murder occurred four months ago, on November 21st, 2015.
She confessed to hitting Patrick Maloney with a leg of frozen lamb last night, the blunt object the Police Department was looking for.
I am now joined with Detective Noonan, the first detective of the Police Department on scene.
