He has written hundreds of humor pieces, most recently “The Last Laugh” for Outdoor Life Magazine. His writings have been collected in 13 books. His most primary subject of writing seems to be about the outdoors but with a little humor built into the writings. He writes mostly about outdoor adventures he had as a child. A few of his columns consist of “They Shoot Canoes, Don’t They?”, and “The Bear in the Attic”.
I really like the style that Patrick McManus writes about. I’m big on writing about the outdoors but also having that humor style built in makes it a perfect story. He is a perfect role model to show that even if you don’t do well in English just the right inspiration can boost your goal to become a famous writer for any outdoor magazine. He is still actively writing for Outdoor Life, his most recent column was “Holiday Snap Shots: Exploding Pants, Tree Plucking and More”.
I remember reading a few of his articles in some Outdoor Life magazine when I was in high school. Patrick has been writing for a very long time and surprises me that he is still enjoying writing about humorist outdoor adventures at the age of 81. His works show the humor in humans against the environment. Most of his writings are about the problems that occur while being outdoors in a humorous
