My role as a floor nurse is to utilize patient safety tools set forth by the organization to promote patient safety. Some of guidelines I must adhere to in my everyday practice to prevent adverse effects are: double checks in insulin, heparin infusion and blood products infusions. There other guidelines set to prevent patient falls and injuries, pressure ulcer prevention.
