Patient Safety Case Study

The situation is unfortunate but not impossible to take control of. Although, Mary is stuck working longer than expected due to a sudden weather emergency. She is still capable of pulling it together and handle the situation. It seems that Mary is worried about everyone's safety which leaves her in the best place to take care of those around her. Then go and try to help those who are stuck in their huts due to the flood. It is important to have the nurses there to assistant her but due to the weather conditions that was not possible.
Social Justice plays a big part in this situation mainly because Mary is a nurse who is helping those who need it. Considering Mary's is the only nurse around, her focus should stay on those she is caring for to make sure they are safe and have medical attention if needed. It is unfortunate that the other American students are not there but that is out of her control and it important to focus on one task at a time then go try to find the other students if it is safe to do so.

It is mainly based on personal preference and what she feels is right. No one will know the right way to handle a situation unless they experience themselves. There are many different scenarios that run through someone's head when they are put into a predicament which leaves them to do what they feel is right. The
The perfect scenario is if the other nurses showed up and helped her handle all those in need. That would allow them to be more efficient and everyone is in good hands. If Mary was given the reassurance that the other nurses were okay, she would be able to focus and be worry free. There are always those situations that people are put in that is not what they wish. That doesn't mean it’s okay to let the situation be in control. Mary needs to take control of the situation
