Patient is a young man in his early 20's, with black hair, pale skin, dark eyes, and a skinny frame. His family are fish merchants, who recently became the nouve riche by inventing canned fish. The patient's mother seems to be quite possessive over him and is constantly trying to correct her son. The father seems to be much more gentle in nature then his wife. It seems that the mother runs the family.
Patient seems to be very shy, and easily startled. He struggles socially, stuttering when he first meets Victoria, the woman that re was arranged to married, and stumbling when he tries to recite his vows at the wedding rehearsal. He also spoke about a place called "land of the dead" where all the dead go to. He spoke as if the dead were alive and were speaking to him. I had my beliefs that the patient had schizophrenia, but the man did not appear to be that mentally unstable (especially to that extreme).
Towards the end of the interview, the patient admitted that he wishes to marry the women he was suppose to marry and that he found peace with the dead and a bit of friendship with Emily. Conclusions
The patient seems to be stable enough, but with noticeably signs of anxiety which can be the cause of his thin frame. This man does not need any intense therapy or counseling. His delusions about the 'dead living' seem to be only just that. It is just an overactive imagination that the patient had created for himself, it is not harmful. He was able find peace with it. He has no other symptoms of schizophrenia and is aware of what he wants for the future. I would recommend a few sessions with me for his anxiety, but other then that he is perfectly
