With regular cervical cytology screening (carrying out a pap smear test at three years interval for all sexually active women) can detect the pre-malignant stage of this disease which has over 90% chances of been cured. High blood pressure, high cholesterol and glucose levels are conditions that predispose individuals to life threatening diseases. High blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke, heart diseases and heart failure. It can also lead to eye and kidney damage. High blood levels of cholesterol and glucose contribute to the risk of developing heart diseases and/or type2 diabetes. Having all these minor health issues checked and managed at the appropriate time will go a long way in saving lives. How would you like to live in a world where you cannot see anything around you? Glaucoma is a leading cause of blindness worldwide and while there is no cure once blindness occurs, early detection means that it can be controlled with just little damage to the eye and perhaps vision maintained. Testicular cancers if found and treated early, has a high cure rate.
