Thank you for contacting us. We're currently working with Dr. Stacy Johnson to automate the process of identifying PE and DVT patient cohort. For the PE task, we want to determine whether a patient has PE or not, if so, whether the PE is acute or chronic and its artery level. For the DVT task, we want to determine whether a patient has VT or not, superficial or deep, proximal or distal, acute or chronic, left or right, upper limbs or lower limbs. For both tasks, we also want to determine if the report impression is certain or uncertain.…
During this assignment, I learnt a lot about Anthony’s health problems. This assignment motivated me to go and find resources and read about diabetes, hypertension, osteoarthritis and lifestyle choices that can affect these diseases. Because I haven’t and no one around me has experienced these health problems, I didn’t know a lot about them. Now I do, and how to prevent this from occurring to me and others. I have also learnt how to give a full health assessment through listening to this one and writing it out like I have actually done the interview.…

(Brenda) Metabolic syndrome is defined by our textbook as "A group of metabolic risk factors in one person; these may include: obesity, insulin resistance or intolerance, hypertension, and altherogenic dyslipidemia"(Battle, 2009). Commonly, an individual with metabolic syndrome has specific physical characteristics, such as excess body fat, especially around the waist line. Metabolic syndrome is in fact a "cluster" of various health issues that occur at the same time.…
Based on the data represented in figure 11.22, the system is under control. This is because variations appear to come from sources that are common to the process. In addition, the system shows a lot of stability and no need for corrections or changes. Important to note from the figure is that the process data can be used to predict the process future performance. For Systems not under control sources of variations are obtained by analyzing the chart since it results to a degraded process performance.…
Concerns that the student nurse would want to monitor for would be signs of decreased cardiac output and lack of blood flow to his peripheral tissues that would be evidenced by edema and relatively colder skin (Jarvis, 2008). Just a few months ago, I had no clue what health informatics was. I was in the process of a major change when my advisor told me about it. I knew I wanted an interactive job, but I also knew that I wanted to be in the health field. I just wasn’t sure what it was I wanted to do in the field of health. I thought about being a surgeon, a dentist, a nurse, a perfusionist, an anesthesiologist, the list goes on.…
Doing a Genogram about my family history, beliefs, and culture is somewhat difficult for me due to a number of reasons. One being that I never met my biological father therefore don’t know anything of the family background that compiles half of my genetic make up, another reason being because I know very little of my mother’s extended family, and frankly because I don’t think we really have many structured family beliefs. Before I dive into the cultural beliefs that my family has, let me quickly explain my family dynamic. My mother was one of two daughters. My aunt Debra moved to Texas before I was born and to this day I have never met her or anyone in her family.…
