Hello Michele, I read your article about cultural competence, I think nurse’s responsibility to know the patient culture before do any type of assessment it doesn’t matter what the health care provider negative view about specific cultural. As a team, nurses need to tell the health care provider about the patient cultural values and beliefs. Always respect their culture and make a trustful relationship with them. Nurses need to make a good relationship with patient and family members also. But the main thing our team members need to be aware the patient culture.
