Patient Data Card (PDC) Patient Data Card is a smart card protected by a PIN including a microprocessor and secured by cryptographic services. It comprises management insurance information and authorizes patients to request medical diagnosis and treatment. From another side, patients grant access to their own health information and data to their doctors, which are recorded on the card itself or in the e-Health system. This card could also carry information like electronic prescriptions.
2. Health Professional Card (HPC)
Health Professional Card is an individual private ID containing a picture and is used by pharmacists and physicians or doctors. It functions like a key that unlocks patient data and permits its holder to access data recorded on the card directly or in the e-Health system. It incorporates an electronic signature which is used on electronic documents like e-Prescriptions.
