The test I chose to take was the one for age. I chose this test because I thought it would be interesting to see what my results would be. I am not around a lot of older people in my day to day life and I wanted to see if this was maybe due to some kind of subconscious prejudice or bias I was unaware of. It’s important for counselors to have an awareness of possible unconscious biases as these will affect treatments sessions with clients
(Aponte, 1985). The test revealed that I did not exhibit any preference for young and old. The results of the test confirmed what I already suspected but wanted to reaffirm. I am glad I took the test though because I never want to become complacent in terms of evaluating areas I my hold bias.
