Pathophysiology of Rheumatoid Arthritis Pathophysiology is the disordered physiological processes associated with diseases or injury and how the progress of that disease or injury changes the body. Rheumatoid arthritis may cause swelling and intense pain throughout various joints, but it can also cause many other problems in the body. If the arthritis gets bad enough, it can cause a low count in red blood cells, inflammation around the heart and lungs, and a person could even develop a fever followed by low amounts of energy. People do not realize that not treating simple symptoms such as swelling can lead to even greater and more life threatening problems such as heart disease or heart failure. Symptoms can last up to all day for months at a time. It is recommended that once you have discovered you have rheumatoid arthritis that you should have it checked out immediately by a health care professional. The anatomical and biochemical problems associated with rheumatoid arthritis are way worse than anyone would expect s it is very important to properly take care of them. The maintenance of the homeostasis in the body is not easily disrupted. It takes a lot to be able to change the body’s temperature. Without proper treatment, rheumatoid arthritis can cause serious fevers with high temperatures and even change your body’s metabolic rate. The further the progression of rheumatoid arthritis gets, the worse the condition becomes and you have a greater risk of having a more serious condition compared to where you first started. It is very important to make sure you are taking care of your body, the moment you know that you have a condition such as this
