Nine Pathological Parenting Styles
T’s case presents three key pathological parenting styles that are likely to be working concurrently in order to make him behave the way he does. First, Punitive parenting could be what the step mother uses on him. In this parenting style, the guardian or parent vents her personal hostility and aggression on the child and it is a combination or over-coercion and perfectionism. T’s step mother seems to be pushing him too much. The same could also be happening with the father because, instead of approaching the son, he threatens to pull him out of college.
The manifestations of this parenting is seen where T tries to bully the teacher by causing interruptions because that is the best way possible for him and also he seems not to fear being reprimanded or
