Path to Citizenship
Many people will dream of walking into America and becoming a citizen, some will even have the guts to do it illegally, but that is not the right thing to do. Unlawful immigrants can and will harm the country. If America let's illegal immigrants just walk into America it will encourage more illegal immigrants. Some unlawful immigrants would even benefit more than us. Finally, they could harm the country if they became legal in many ways, such as crimes. Some illegal immigrants could even make America’s crime rates increase. Therefore, we should not let unlawful immigrants into America.
One negative point about letting unlawful immigrants into America is that it encourages more immigrants to travel illegally in. According to Dan Stein, “Government’s failure to protect the people..., encourages illegal immigrants...” which means when the government fails to protect and secure the people’s freedom it simply will encourage more immigrants unlawfully. Therefore, every time another illegal immigrant comes to America they will attract more. According to Jim Demint, “ Amnesty will… encourage more unlawful immigration in the future,” which means promoting amnesty will just bring in more thinking it's ok.
