Patch Cipriano Book Report

Nora Grey is just a normal sophomore in high school, living in Coldwater, Maine. Things start to become very eventful when she gets a new mysterious biology partner, Patch Cipriano. Nora is almost immediately drawn to Patch’s mysteriousness. No matter how her feelings are she refuses to admit them to her best friend, Vee.
Nora and Vee go out to an amusement park, Delphic, with the new boy at school, Elliot, who has already let it be known he is attracted to Nora. Things start to get weird when they run into Patch at Delphic, making Elliot jealous. Patch talks Nora into meeting him later at the newly remodeled roller coaster, The Archangel. When Nora and Patch get on the ride things get to be chaotic when Nora falls off of the coaster but comes to find out it was all in her imagination. After being stranded by Vee and Elliot, Nora has no other choice but to allow Patch to take her home. The two almost kiss but are interrupted by Nora’s mom calling, so Patch leaves.
Nora soon becomes closer to Patch and thinks maybe her opinion of him was wrong, and becomes more and more suspicious of Elliot after finding out he was involved in a murder case.

When walking around town she gets lost, so she asks a bag lady for directions in return for her coat. Then all of a sudden the bag lady is murdered. Nora being scared and not knowing what to do calls Patch and asks for a ride. Patch’s jeep ends up breaking down so they have to take shelter in a nearby motel. While at the motel Nora sees an upside down V scar on Patch’s back. She had seen it before when he was wrestling with his best friend, Rixton, but thought it was her imagination. Nora is very fascinated by the scar and ends up touching it, which makes her get pulled into memories of Patch’s
