I believe and feel that through practicing OFNR, many relationships and friendships will be salvaged and/or created. In this practice, leadership causes those in disagreement to vocally and fully produce ones observation, feeling, needs and a reachable request that will effective resolve or began to facilitate some sort of resolution to a heated discussion. Thus far in this semester, “foundations in pastoral care” has deeply challenged and transformed how I view pastoral care. With supplying tools such as active listening, purposeful leading, and non-violent communication, I am highly more prepared for pastoral ministry then I ever would be. It is scary to see how much information that many in the African American context is missing out on by opting out of coming to obtain a seminary education. This material will serve as lifesaving information as I prepare to go forth and be an effective teacher and leader of God’s
