Pastor Whitfield: Proverbs 31 Woman

Improved Essays
When I think on Proverbs 31, the woman that comes to mind is my grandmother, Margo Decker. She was an amazing godly woman. A year ago, September, she passed away and at her funeral three pastors spoke; one represented her past (Pastor Whitfield), the next her present (Pastor Koenig), and lastly one spoke of her future (my cousin, Pastor Decker). It was a beautiful service. The thing that stood out to me the most was when Pastor Whitfield called her a Proverbs 31 woman. I thought I have never heard of someone being called that before, especially someone I knew. As I read every description today, I can truly say she met every one of the descriptions and then some.
Sadly, I only have a few of these characteristics. I do aspire to be this kind

My parents have always challenged me to strive to do my best since I was a child. From pushing me to learn how to ride a bike at age five, to striving me to achieve a higher ACT score to attend the college I love, I learned how to become very independent and credible. As I approached my high school years, I changed mentally by creating a positive mindset after my freshman year. As to this day, getting a 3.11-grade point average has affected me in both positive and negative ways. One characteristic that I figured out about myself is that I am a person who learns from mistakes due to the fact that I am a tactile learner.…

A trait I really want to have is the same level of compassion Magwitch has. In chapter 1, Magwitch demanded food and scared Pip to death. Magwitch also took all the blame for Pip when he got caught in chapter 5, he could have sold out Pip with nothing to loose. Now, he came back and talked about how every time he earned money he thought of how it was Pip's, or every time he struggled, he thought how Pip would not have to, (Chapter 38-39). Magwitch owed Pip, but not to this extent.…

Wisdom as a Woman in Proverbs In this paper I will argue that wisdom is personified as a woman within Proverbs to add desirability to learning. In order to motivate this these, I argue for the following claims: Solomon wrote Proverbs with a specific reader in mind, the bible depicts women as assistants to men, using the personification of a woman makes learning comparable to real women, and by creating a female image wisdom is closely related to the warmth offered by mothers. Solomon wrote the book of Proverbs with his target audience being young men.…

The woman described in Proverbs 31 values others above herself and cares for them with diligence (Proverbs 31:15). Who am I? A question that would made you think well and might puzzle you out. Describing yourself is harder than describing someone because there are some areas in you that you are not certain of such as characteristics, personalities, and attitude. Also, there are things that other people would notice while we can’t because those things are the things we do that we are not conscious about. Talking about myself, I am Noreen Joyce F. Panganiban, a 16 year-old girl turning 17 this March 2016, from Carmona, Cavite.…
