On my one and only vacation last summer, I got the privilege on going to my first Younglife camp. The camp name was Carolina Point in Brevard, North Carolina. At the camp they had many activities: swimming, go-carting, disc golf, mountain biking, zip-lining, paddling boarding, and hiking. My favorite part about this trip was the day we took a whole camp trip to hike the nearby mountain. At the camp they had some kids with disabilities that couldn’t necessarily get up the mountain by themselves.…

However, in the end it's also important for parents to look at their children and consider whether this positive and life-changing opportunity is right for…

However, a way to fix this would be to have the schools include these in their program. Offer the parents a type of summer camp run by year-round schools that runs during the months that your student is out of school in the summer, that way they can still be involved in the summer camps and also get to meet some new people.…

As a whole, is going to a summer sleep-away camp as a child a positive experience or a negative one? From what I have learned from my experience and research, I have found that going away can be a positive thing for a child. For example, when a child goes away from their family for a sleep-away camp they have to separate from their families breaking all ties for a few days or weeks. This is a good thing because of the fact that this child when they grow up is going to have to leave their family anyways for college, work, and their own life in the real world. In exchange for them leaving their family they learn independence instead of dependence, hardships and solutions, learn to meet new people, and most of all get a taste of what they will…
