Both groups, however, created an amicable environment and a joint tradition that everyone seemed to cherish. Perhaps this generational gap can be explained by modernization or by hypothesizing that, as the members get older, they also will begin to focus more on the religious experience. Perhaps it is a unique feature of the Rich’s Seder, along with the other unique traditions they incorporate to make their Seder an enjoyable experience for all the guests. Regardless of the explanation for the different outlooks held by each generation, both groups found great meaning through the Seder. Whether they found meaning through reconnecting with loved ones or by creating a religious experience, almost everyone ultimately had a meaningful experience and claimed to greatly value this
