Passion Of Christ Analysis

Throughout the years the “Passion of the Christ” movies have been used to tell the story about Christ’s death and resurrection. Then in 2004 Mel Gibson made his version of the movie and as I like to say brought it in to the 21st century with updated graphics, violence, and blood. The combination of images, faith, and history this film truly was like no other Passion of Christ movie ever done. The Passion of the Christ is a serious and deep piece of cinematography, it not just show us how much pain one man went through for us but it celebrates for the unbeliever the triumph of humanity over an absolute brutality and through this movie for all the believers of the Christian faith this movie has become a powerful reminder that we still need to …show more content…
Now subtitles in “The Passion of the Christ” do not interfere mainly because most of the story is told through the visuals and what we see. When you combine and thoroughly analyze all the elements of Mel Gibson’s version of the Passion of Christ this includes the wonderful directing job, the actors, the camera work, the editing, and even the music which is often mysterious at times you have to give it up for music can make or break movie sometimes and it worked beautifully in this movie. The soundtrack is remarkably well produced, throughout the film it provides the audience mainly with both exotic sounds that baffle and induce a sense of frightening to the story. The Passion may well employ spiritual sounds and images to build up its effects. Gibson has told the world his story on the Passion of Christ cinematically. For example the way he uses framing of each shot in the film, in the most serious moments the film rapidly cuts to reaction shots mainly shots showing women and children, during Christ most time of …show more content…
What I have learned its either you’re either for it and all it represents with seeing Christ suffer like no other film has done to date or you’re against it and simply hate the violence and are one of those who say it’s too ‘pornographic” and has too many extreme images to watch but just remember if you’re a Christian and you saying that you better re-evaluate your life. One thing I have learned about this film “The Passion of the Christ” one theme that I have realized now is that, after all the reviews and negatives from the film and all the hate against the movie you can tell this film messes with you physiologically. It really can get inside you especially if people are reacting the way they have been throughout the years from watching this film you know its

Christian imagery and allegory are remarkably prevalent in many soviet films. This is reflective of the Russian Orthodox Church’s ineradicable position in Russian culture as well as the applicability – the universal nature - of the biblical story. Paradoxically, this phenomenon directly contradicts the idealized atheism of the soviet state. In this paper I will explore the different ways four of the thirteen films we have watched this semester incorporate Christianity.…

As we age we start to worry about our family, specifically our parents. Who is going to take care of them, are they going to be able to stay at home, how much assistance are they going to need, is my sibling going to step in and help or am I going to be caring for them by myself? All of these questions can be overwhelming and cannot be answered until they actually happen. As we saw in Angels Preach a lot goes into caregiving and decision making for what is best for are loved one. I thought this movie did a really good job about dismissing the stereotypes to caregiving, but it also show how Alzheimer’s can affect everyone in the family, and how moving elders with Alzheimer’s out of their homes is not the best option.…

Some of their most notable work include Jerusalem Countdown (2011), The Book of Daniel (2013), The Case for Christ (2017), and the God’s Not Dead series (2014-). Many people have an idea about how war is like, however most of them base these ideas from movies that they see. Similarly, Richie Perry in Fallen Angels, by Walter Dean Myers, also has a fantasized view about war. However, his view completely changes when he partakes in the Vietnam war. Through the character of Perry, Walter Dean Myers reveals that being part of a war changes an individual’s outlook on war because it debunks many beliefs they had before. War is similar to what is shown on movies, or so what Perry has thought.…

The most chilling horror movie of the year isn’t Crimson Peak or Paranormal Activity: it’s Jesus Camp. The terror of watching kids spend every moment of their youth proselytizing, surrendering to prayer, and vying to “reclaim America for Christ,” is far more intense than seeing a girl being terrorized by ghosts. And scarier yet: it’s all completely real. Jesus Camp is not a drama or a comedy. It's a documentary, made by award-winning filmmakers Heidi Ewing and Rachel Grady, who follow the experiences of three young children—Levi, Tory, and Rachael—as they attend the "Kids on Fire" summer camp in Devil's Lake, North Dakota.…

Scenes from a Parish Paper After watching Scenes from a Parish, I found that much of the efforts made within St. Patrick’s related to St. Francis’s story when he responded to the call to restore the church of San Damiano. As St. Francis worked on the church, he was able to attract followers and form a Franciscan community. I found St. Partick’s Church to follow a similar philosophy in several instances. First of all, the church maintained a lay character and accepted any person who needed assistance. For instance, as the food center was completed, volunteers went around the city informing all groups of people that this food center would be available to them whenever they needed it.…

The movie Jesus’ Son, released in 2000 and directed by Alison Maclean, is based on a collection of short stories of the same name written by Denis Johnson. The short story collection was published in 1992 and would be considered dramatic. The protagonist in both is referred to as FH and is a substance abuser, but that is where the similarity ends. Within the short story collection, FH appears to be dark and detached, with an unusually shallow perspective of his experiences.…

The movie progresses to depict the imminent threat of war and the monks are forced to decide whether to leave the community they love or to flee and seek safety elsewhere. The head monk, Christian, initially decides that the entire convent will stay and refuses to enlist an army for protection. St. Benedict summarized Christian’s decision to stay as a nonviolent presence in the community as “Let the leader strive to be loved rather than feared” (Article 8 (2472)). Another factor in Christian’s decision is his belief that Christ endured the ultimate persecution and rejection without violence, aggression or condemnation of his persecutors throughout the Passion Story (Mathew [26:67], Mark [15:16-20], Luke [23:35] and John [19:1-3]). Thus nonviolence…

The film The Believer, is a film about Danny Balint who is a Jewish boy that becomes a neo-Nazi. He grows up to be an angry, violent guy, attacking Judaism and Jews. Throughout the film, the paradoxical anti-Semitic view of Jewish self-hatred can be seen but along with this, viewers see that as much as Danny hates Jews and Judaism, he cares about the traditions as well. Although Danny kills himself, thus ending the protagonist, the ending of the film is inconclusive. One could argue that Danny chose to take his own life because of his internal struggle between being a neo-Nazi and a Jew.…
