In both the passage and the fable, there was one common theme that they both shared. The common theme that they both had is that, although always used to one thing, you should always try something new. This theme could have been identified when the boy talks to his teacher about the contest and also when the animal runs out of the cage. Some reasons that this passage supports the theme is because on paragraph twenty-five Mrs. Neville says,"You should consider it".
