The Unwanted Public Stink
Who has not experienced the unwanted public stink?
Like a thief in the night, he sneaks up on you faster than you'd think
I shall never forget my first public passing of gas
So much shame was bequeathed to my name, all because of my smelly ass
January 7th was the date of the unfortunate incident
The fact that this day is national Pass Gas Day was no coincidence
I was to finally meet my boyfriend's parents, I really couldn't wait
Looking back now I wish I would've known my rear was about to seal my fate

The tragic truth is that crashes are the number one cause of death for people between the ages of 15 to 20 in the United States of America. Anna Quindlen’s essay “Driving to the Funeral” went into the dangers of teen driving, by showing parents not being strict enough with their kids, the poor enforcement of the law, and teenagers being too irresponsible. Even though, there are many teens that were injured or even worse killed, parents are still taking the right of driving very easily onto their kids. Mrs. Quindlen said “Parents seem to treat the right of a 16-year-old to drive as an inalienable one.” Mrs. Quindlen criticized parents very heavily on allowing their kids to drive at such a young age.…

The fracking process involves the use of harmful chemicals mixed in with the water used. It is difficult to contain all of the chemicals and contaminated water from spreading to healthy water. This damages the environment and hurts the people around that area. “Streams polluted by the wastewater of fracking contained levels of contaminants that often exceeded federal guidelines for safe drinking water or aquatic health. Soil at the spill sites was contaminated with radium, a naturally occurring radioactive element found in brines, which chemically attaches to the soil after the spill water is released.”…

In the words of Ronald Reagan, one of the most respected US Presidents: “Republicans believe that every day is the fourth of July, but the democrats believe that every day is April 15”. This statement made by him implies that he believes that Republican conservatives believe that every day is the 4th of July which is the celebration of our independence, and Democrats believe that every day is tax day, which is a day where the government can come and seize your property. On that note, I am arguing the fact that we need a republican president to serve the next term. This topic is important because it shows the kind of image that the next president should portray and the mark he or she should leave for the next generation. Our last president…

Driving under the influence, or DUI, can have major consequences; such as getting your license suspended, fines, and even jail time. There are laws set in place, not only for the state of Tennessee, but throughout the country for DUI. In Tennessee, these laws, in my opinion, need to be revised. A DUI, or in some states called a DWI (driving while intoxicated), is a criminal offense that, in some states, means that you are driving under the influence of alcohol to the point that it impairs your mobility. In other states it just means that you are driving under the influence with a BAC of .08 or more regardless of if the alcohol has impaired you physically and mentally.…

American Oxygen E. E. Cummings said, “America makes prodigious mistakes, America has colossal faults, but one thing that cannot be denied: America is always on the move.” Just as the late poet once said, America has had its fair share of flaws, whether that be in reference to the internal hatred many of its own people hold for each other or the violence it has experienced over the years. Despite all of its faults, America also has many people who are willing to stand up for what they believe in and help others, just as Martin Luther King Jr. did in the mid 50’s. As a whole, America is a country made up of immigrants looking for something better, for the potential to live their lives how they want them to be. The message behind Rihanna’s “American Oxygen” is that as a country, America has had several moments of violence and despair, but even so, people are able to overcome these difficulties, and there is potential for everyone.…
