In his interview, participant 001, an art major male minority student described how has been categorized on campus by students and staff due to his image. The student at times is questions on his attendance in campus. Despite these challenges and the alienation from students and staff, participant 001 has had the resilience in overcoming this form of micro- aggression by being respectful, participant 001 explained,
“Some have been nice, some students have been or have judge you on your mistakes they make you feel unwelcome. Because of my image because the way that I dress some people talk to me others don’t talk to me in class. No; more professor even if initially. I am always respectful and polite even they have been disrespected
