showing up, going to work and doing nothing and geting a pay raise. This is the same for particapation trophies. Youth athletes are being awarded with particapation trophies. People are agianst particapation trophies but not because it hurts the children. Particapation trophies are taking away the fun of earning a trophy. On the other hand people think that it is worth a few bucks to give kids a big smile. Kids should not be getting trophies just for showing Imagine if showing up provided a benifit, or a reward. Each year one coach spends two to three thousand dollars a year on participation trophies. Why are we spending all this money on participation trophies? Yes, this gives the kids a smile but after a game you can simply just give them ice cream. On the other hand, people think it is worth a few bucks to give kids a big smile. Participation trophies motivated the kids that are not good at their sports. Particicipation trophies make the kids that aren't as good at their sports feel better and that they are the same as all the other kids because they get a trophy. Participation tropies can have a negative or positive effect on kids. You can't pass a class just for showing up. Participation trophies are handed out to kids every year just for showing up to practice. You don't get a raise just for going to work. Why should the kids get trophies just for going to the games.
