You have probably heard about or even seen a parrot before. Maybe you know someone who owns a parrot, or maybe you have seen them in pirate movies and shows perched on a pirate's shoulder. Parrots are one of the most beautiful birds in the world. There are many different kinds of parrots and each of them have a unique plumage. Some parrots are just one color and others are very colorful. Parrots are very intelligent and they are one of the most intelligent birds that exist. They are studied a lot because of their intelligence. One of their most unique features is that they can mimic other sounds, including people. Parrots are the greatest and most unique birds because of all these things. There are about 350 birds that are classified as parrots. Since there are that many parrots, they vary in many things and one of them is sizes. There are very small parrots and really big ones. The size range is from 3.5 inches to 40 inches. Since they have different sizes, they also have different weights. The weight range is from 2.25 ounces to 3.5 pounds.
