Parr Instrument Company: A Personal Calorimeter Analysis

I am working for Parr Instrument Company, a company that manufacture and sale laboratory instruments include calorimeter. Calorimeter is a machine that used to determine the potential calorie of a test object. With the breakthrough of newly developed technology, Parr Instrument Company can now reduce the size of the calorimeter from a photocopy machine to the size of a laptop. Therefore, I will introduce a new product GV, a Personal Calorimeter. Personal Calorimeter is a machine that can quickly calculate the amount of calorie of a meal using a small sample of the meal. Even though, every food and drink product has label with the amount of calorie on them. But when many different ingredients were used to cook together, it become difficult to keep track of the total calorie. This is when the GV become handy. This will signify to the consumer that this is a specialty product with high value and unique features. From the customer perspective, this product would be classify as a discontinuous innovation, where new consumption patterns is required. All the company store will provide product trail and personal selling to the consumer in order to educate them about the new product. Visitor coming to the store will allow to operate the GV with instruction from store employees. Many sale person will personally introduce the GV machine to the target market. These agent will come to the gym, club and association with many bodybuilder, model company or directly to some high influence actors, model to introduce the product. Also, the company will develop an Internet page, where product is introduced, and provided instruction.
