Juveniles in the U.S commit various kinds of crimes; ranging from theft to something extreme such as murder. When these juveniles are tried in court for murder they are often tried as adults, not as a child. These juveniles are often sentenced to life without parole. Many individuals believe that this is the only way to punish them. However, juveniles should be eligible for parole and a chance to show that they can change. Juveniles should be tried as a child and given a chance at parole because their minds are still developing. During a juvenile's teenage years their brains undergo significant change.
