It was about a 17 year-old named Belle which moves to Switchblade, Oregon to live with her dad. She meets a guy in high school named Edwart and falls in love with him. Throughout the story, she gets to know more about Edwart’s family and she finds out that he and his family are vampires, but she does not care and keep the relationship a secret. Near the end of the book, Edwart and Belle meet a guy named Jim and he feels attracted to Belle. Edwart and his family try to get her away from James but he bites her so she can turn to a vampire; Edwart takes her to the hospital. Fortunately, she did not turned into a vampire because of Edwart’s help. Belle begs him to bite her so that they can be vampires and be together but he refuses.

She tried to make Edwart fall in love with her just like she fell in love with him because making a bond with him would make them inseparable. An example would be when she says,”I’m the one person you can trust forever. From here on out, let’s be straight with one another” (Pg.71). Belle knew that if she convinced Edwart, he would have made her a vampire and stay with him forever. Her love towards Edwart was really strong and the main thing she wanted was to be bitten by Edwart to be a vampire and be together. The only way she could be a vampire was by earning his trust. Another example is shown when Belle says, “So I was the only human Edwart had contact with. I stepped towards him more slowly, trying to do humanity justice”(Pg. 84).
