One of the things that was suppose to help her with this disease was physical therapy. However the article Physical therapy not associated with improvements in patients with early stages Parkinson's disease suggests that physical therapy may not even be helping patients. The study was conducted in the United Kingdom and they say that “For patients with mild to moderate Parkinson disease (PD) there were no clinically meaningful benefits to activities of daily living or quality of life associated with physiotherapy and occupational therapy”, hearing this makes me wonder how they determined this through their study and what can they find that does help patients diagnosed with Parkinson’s …show more content…
If the researchers were to continue this study they would need to explore the development and testing of more structured and intensive PT programs in patients with all stages of PD. By doing so more clinically meaningful results might be produced.
The study done by the researchers in the united Kingdom and the results produced doesn’t give much hope to those hoping therapy would work. However, the researchers stated that it is possible that mild to moderate disease may not respond to therapies, whereas more severe disease may respond, "although this remains to be established," according to the results. Hopefully this is something that can be established.
