Parking Should Be Allowed In Schools

One instance that I never thought about in schools was the parking/bus rides. When I was a student in school the athletes got their parking passes first. I didn't realize this at the time, but not everyone is privileged with being athletic. Playing on a team is expensive. There are many fees, not to mention that there is then no one to take you home if you miss your bus. It is heartbreaking to see that students are not given the opportunity to participate in extracurricular activities. “Decades of research has uncovered horrid inequities in the educational opportunities available to students in poverty as compared to those available to students from wealthy families.” (IT’S NOT THEIR FAULT) These students are getting parking passes because …show more content…
I definitely think that these needs are overlooked. I can see in my internship now that some of these needs are not being met. I see who gets breakfast on the way in, in the mornings. I see what my students are wearing. When I was in school we knew who got free meals because that had to tell the lunch lady. Thank goodness that everyone has lunch numbers now to prevent this. We saw in the in the MINIMUM WAGE VIDEO that he was unable to have access to healthcare because the clinic closed at 5:30, and he couldn't miss a day of work without going hungry. This I am sure happens on a regular basis. In class I thought it was very interesting when we PLAYED MONOPOLY. I was the last to go, and it was extremely frustrating to be at a disadvantage like that. I thought that it was really neat that someone stated that the person who went first just seemed to always get “breaks”. This was true when it came to my game, because every single time I got chance cards I had to pay, and it seems like everyone else was winning
