This past Saturday evening, I attended the screening of “Parked in a Trunk: The Lost Art of Edith Lake Wilkinson”. The screening was about a woman artist during the early 1900s who later on in her life was sent to an asylum and no longer heard of after. The lady whom documented her findings and research on Edith was persuaded at a very early age by Edith’s art that she was surrounded by in her home. I found the screening very eye opening because it touched into detail how women during that time of era had very little recognition than men did with their art and pretty much anything in general. It also spoke about how people who were gay had to live a “double or hidden life”, because in society it was not really heard of nor accepted which even
