Over the course of the years, there has been various strategies created to make neighborhoods safe all through the United States. During this day and age, our society is extremely risky and it's not simply up to the police to ensure an area is protected, yet the general population of the area needs to volunteer to ensure the area is sheltered too. There are various measures of strategies that as of now have been attempted to alter these continuous issues. Park Heights in Baltimore, Maryland is the area I will concentrate on, which has a high crime rate and needs some crime prevention strategies to help the neighborhood become safe again. The Park Heights people group was formally settled in 1888. This area turned into the home of numerous European foreigners. The Park Heights neighborhood was situated along two streetcar lines and houses were worked inside a five moment stroll of a streetcar or transport stop. By 1945, the Park Heights people group was included business and non business spots of business, sitting tight territories for those utilizing open transportation, walkways, and tree lined private squares. There are approximately 39 religious assemblies in this community (Ames, et al., 2011). While observing the community, churches have marque full of upcoming church events. Many telephone and light polls have billboards stapled informing the community about upcoming events in the community.
There are several public school systems located in this area. Some of the schools in this area are Kipp Harmony School, Langston Hughes Elementary, Pimilco Elementary/Middle, and Edgecombe Elementary/Middle School. The public school system in Baltimore provides services to students and their families (Ames, et al., 2011). Services provided to students and families by the public school system are parent institute and parent teacher association (PTA).
A single mother of four living in the central park heights community agreed to a brief interview. During the interview this anonymous resident said that she lived on Grantley Avenue located off of Reisterstown Road. Two of her four children currently attend Langston Hughes Elementary school.
