The issue with sleeping is that quiet environment is necessary. In the story “Park bench vacation” by Italo Calvino, the main character Marcovaldo also chose the wrong to sleep. There is not a forest close to his apartment, so he decides to sleep in a park for the night in order to experience serenity. Unfortunately, the bench on which he wants to sleep is occupied by a couple of lovers. After a while, he can lie down on the bench, but the light of a traffic light, the noise made by a team of workmen, and the stink of a garbage truck keep him awake. Finally, he starts sleeping on the bench, but it is already dawn! Through this story, the author faced some difficulties to sleeping outdoor. I observed the same things indoor, and my serenity was disturbed in Chicago by some bad conditions such as ambient noise, living with annoying neighbors and noisy public works in front of my building.
In Calvino's story, Marcovaldo was able to walk away from the couple's mindless chatter, but there is nowhere to escape from the ambient noise in Chicago. For example the police or

However, I remember that when I left my apartment in the downtown to the suburbs, in the first week I slept very well because our neighbor was quiet, but in the second week the AT&T Company woke me up because they started their works down of my building.
