Paris Persuasive Speech

There are no excuses for what happened in Paris on November 13, 2015. I believe that once terrorists are in your borders there are no ways to stop them. With that said, I believe the only way to even have a chance at stopping these horrific events are tightening up our borders to the max. Paris was always known as a place where memories were made, never a dangerous or stressful place. But on that night Paris was to change forever, when a place goes through a horrific event like that everyone’s lifestyles change in an instant. The idea that the United States are trying to stop Isis is to me a lie. Isis isn't something that you can negotiate or just try to avoid them, to stop these attacks you have to get rid of them fully. I am totally fine with letting infants into our country but grown women are a totally different discussion. Once a mind set is in your brain as the "right way of living" no matter where you move to that will always be how you think. These attacks are just the start of what can happen in every state in the United States, because right now we nor does anyone have enough security that can prevent situations like these. Paris lost around 150 people that night and about 200 people were injured. One thing that everyone should be scared about is that the next attack could be just minute away and no one would even know it. I also believe that the security in everyday life is not to his highest potential, for example the night of the Paris attacks the bomber was stopped by police after the attack to be questioned but was never detained! They just let the guy who killed hundreds of people go. "They came to talk to him more and more and told him that he should attend the sermon at the mosque more regularly and that he should be devoted to his practice of Islam. Then they led him towards mosques that were more radical," Said one of the Bombers sister. Being brainwashed is one of the biggest ways that people get turned into someone

On March 16th 2017, Natalie Daguiam delivered a persuasive speech to the Speech 2001 class of 25 people at Western University on why sugar is an addictive substance using a PowerPoint presentation as a visual aid. Natalie began her speech with some effective hooks, noticeably grabbing the attention of the audience. This was done in a two-step process, in which she first asked the audience “How do you live a good life?” a general question which seemed to attract some audience attention. She then transitioned into her topic by showing very spectacular and indulging images of sweet desserts while describing how delicious they are, effectively using visual rhetoric to grasp the attention of the remainder of the audience and enhance the pathos of her speech.…

If the Newseum is torn down, the first amendment will not have a place to be celebrated just for itself, so there will be no place to celebrate the first American Constitutional freedom. President Trump is pressuring Congress into passing a bill that will start a project to make room for new monuments. The project will consist of tearing down monuments that the government feels are unnecessary. The project will ruin DC and the American spirit. If the bill does pass, the Newseum should definitely not be torn down since it is a reminder of what America is, it will have horrible economic effects on the country, and tearing it down will diminish the American spirit.…
