Parents are the people who bring us into this world, although sometimes they seem like they didn’t want to, that teach us of growing up and becoming an adult. There are many great role-model parents out there that do good for their children, but some parents just can’t handle taking care of their children. Children need someone to look up to and to have by their side in their lifetime, but children out there don’t have that. Parents not caring enough about their kids or just flat out not capable of taking care of them, can lead them into tough situations that can change their life forever, such as drugs, alcohol, and committing crimes. There are many ways to lead up to licensing parents that could change everything for the better. Parents need to be licensed in order to have a child, or children if wanted. There are too many kids in this world who aren’t being guided, by their parents, in the right direction and it’s causing them to go downhill in their lives. Parents that just want kids, but aren’t capable of taking care of them is how overpopulation is started. The license for being a parent could just be like getting your drivers license. “Parental licensing, or requiring a license for having a baby, is an example of population control” (Habiger). The government could run you through some tests to see if you’re fitted to raise a child or not.
