Sophomore Research Project As William Arthur Ward once said “The pessimist complains about the wind; the optimist expects it to change; the realist adjusts the sails.”. This quote goes deeper into thought than what people want to. People will say that they always think on the bright side by saying that the wind will change in a bit and then get back to playing golf. In reality all they want is to wait until something changes for them. People are lazy so we think optimistic but it is better to act right away and change how you hit the golf ball to adjust to the change in the wind. People are always complaining about something and the quote shows us that you should go out and do something about it. Complaining will get you no were in life

They can predict that the convention center will bring in a good sum of money for the town, the convention center will also be able to attract a big variety of families to learn about the town. In the newspaper article it says “… a convention center will bring in about $2 million for the city of Kochville.” this part of the newspaper tells us that the convention center has the ability to bring in 2 million every year and the people will also want food and the newspaper article also says “And its surrounded by hotels and fast food joints.” this statement tells us that the plot of land is surrounded by fast food joints for people to go to. Putting the two parts to gather the convention center will bring in money and the food joints around will benefit from the people that go to the convention center. The center will also create jobs for lots of people they will need people to run all the different aspects of the building. Some evidence on this can be found in the speech given by Martin Dooflenut “… a new position: Convention Center Executive Director.” the speech has presented what the head job will be and can assume that the position will not run …show more content…
The convention center is what they should do for the replacement of the old park. A large reason for what has been chosen is the amount of money that each will bring into the community. Some powerful evidence on the topic can be found in the speech given by Martin Dooflenut he says “…we can probably reap extra revenue from the student population…necessary renovate the park in a short amount of time.” This is telling us that there is a chance of getting the necessary renovation money but they have no guarantee. But on the flip side in the same speech he says “It could bring in about $2 million each year.” From this statement we can see that it will bring in a good sum of money. The next reason the convention center should be built is because it will create more jobs than the park, the park will only need a cleanup crew to come through once or twice a month. The crew would not need to be very big maybe 3 or 4 people. The convention center would need someone to run the place, they would also need a secretary, then they would need several people to walk the halls and help the people, they might also be adding tour guides and the last big job would be security. Every job except the CEO would need more than one person to run the convention center all day and into the evening. The last major reason for changing to a convention center would be how the town as changed form an agricultural community to an industrial
