Parenthood Movie Analysis

Stuck Like Glue Family is something you’re stuck with. You don’t get to pick your family and you definitely don’t get to pick how they act. When watching the movie Parenthood that is what I thought of the most: how my family acts, the good and bad memories we have, and how this impacts me. A lot of the scenes reminded me of my family, and some of the incidents we’ve had. Crazy times are apart of every family’s life. How we act in these crazy times are what represent you. In the opening scene you see the Buckman’s family leaving a Cardinals game; although, I’m personally a Cubs fan, this reminded me of the first time I went to a Major League Baseball game. This is when our family really pulls together. The Buckman’s were all together for a family dinner that didn’t end too well. Jealousy is radiating from three of the siblings when their dad’s favorite son actually comes home. Then from there the lights go out and when they turn back on they were delighted with a disturbing surprise. This reminded me of a time when my mom and I were slammed with an unfortunate surprise. My mom and I were in Paris, France enjoying the Louve when we got a call from my dad in the apple store. It was one of the rare times I was able to get WIFI, and as soon as I turned my phone off airplane mode I received an urgent text from my dad to call him. When he answered the phone he told my mom the horrific news that my aunt was in a coma. It was a devastating moment that I will never forget, but after returning from Europe my mom and I caught the next flight to Florida. My aunt passed away later that summer, but with her death it showed me how a family can really come together and always be there for each other in a difficult
