I am writing to show support for policy that would be utilized to increase education in public schools on the topics of human sexuality and planned parenthood. As a health worker and constituent of yours, I strongly urge you to consider supporting this policy and improving the lives of hundreds of thousands of young people in our state. Teen pregnancy is a far greater problem in the U.S. than it is in any other developed nation, and it is particularly troublesome in the state of Virginia. Educating teens about reproductive health is closely linked with the increased use of contraception, and a reduction in instances of exposure to sexually transmitted infections.
