In my high school years, my parents only came to the school once or twice I think I could feel a difference in relationships with the teachers. Parent teacher nights and the relationship that comes from that, I think helps connect the student and teacher because it clears up a mysterious part of the equation for the teacher. Even if the meeting is only for 15 minutes, I have seen teachers stop and talk to students for 30 minutes because they met their student’s parent and something new came out of that. I guess based on my own experience in high school I also forgot to factor in the parents into my classroom. That’s two important parts that I have totally skipped over. I would have to ask how important that parent interaction is in high school. That is a time that many kids are driving themselves around, making plans and deciding colleges which none of those activities are that parent focused. I don’t see it being as important as middle and grade school but still a good tool to
