One can wonder, what is it like to not know their own mother or father? Many people could relate about that but not knowing about your own parent hurts. In both of the literature selections, the narrators build up tension in both stories in each event that takes place in the story. For example, in Excerpt from “Father” by Alice Walker, the narrator explains how she wasn’t able to bond with her father even now since he’s dead. Also, in The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini, Amir explains how usually his father tells him to run along or read one of his books. Usually he aches to see his mother but she died during childbirth. In addition, these two have in common with somethings. For one, in Excerpt from “Father” by Alice Walker, the narrator explains how her father would never understand what she wrote about him since he died. She had a hard time writing about her father than her mother since she barely knew her father. Her father never knew her but she resembles a lot like her father. In The Kite Runner pg.3,Amir claims how he wished to meet his mom so it ache him so much but he can’t since she died while giving birth to him.
