I. Introduction

The current observation took place of an Irish Catholic middle class couple from Brooklyn. They are family orientated; Jessica has her parents living across the street from their house. The father, George, is 35 years old; mother, Jessica, is 30 years old, and their 8 month old son, Dylan. Both of the parents are experienced working school teachers. They live in single family house that contains three floors and an indoor garage. The rooms look well maintained with the right furniture. The floors are wooded and contain no rugs or carpet. While Jessica was holding her son, Dylan was very active by making loud, single vowel sounds and moving his feet. I assume he can not hold the anticipation to go on about his day and play with his toys. Once the evaluation began, some movements would just come along as the mother described. Others would require repetitive trials in order to get a true analysis; anything else would require asking the mother. He showed he was able to maintain a good equilibrium by exhibiting postural control with his back in vertical position. His right leg is in a position where the hip is externally rotated, abducted, and knee flexed while on the left leg his hip is flexing but his knee is extended. After a few seconds, he quickly leans forward with his trunk, reaches out his arms into extension, flexes both his hips and knees, and begins the crawling movement. Just like sitting, supine and prone are positions Dylan does not maintain for long periods at all. He would automatically either roll over from supine into prone or push off with his arms and his hip and knees flexed to begin crawling. He maintains ring-sitting or long sitting when he is preoccupied with toys; which shows that he can rotate his trunk and lean symmetrical trunk over his leg when being distracted by a toy. His transition from sitting to quadruped is very fluid. He is able to tuck one leg and foot under the body or both at the same time so smoothly that the process needed to be repeated in order to analyze
