Paraprofessional Identification

Improved Essays
I have decided to pursue the paraprofessional certification for many reasons being a mother of three school aged children and marrying just out of high school I chose not to go to College and be a stay at home mom. Now with my children being older I recently took a job in the school cafeteria, but I would much rather work with children. The reason I want to pursue my paraprofessional certification is because I love working with children, and also having the time to be able to participate in all my children’s activities. I love working with children and feel that I have alot to offer. I would eventually like return to school and become a teacher. I also would like to work with special needs students because I feel that I have the patients

Paraprofessionals may find themselves delivering primary instruction to students with disabilities and making curricular and instructional decisions without oversight of a licensed teacher, plan lessons, lead instruction, create and administer tests, and assign student grades (CITE A). With such a wide variety of tasks beings asked of a paraprofessional, it becomes clear why role confusion can occur. In Sioux City Community School District (2003), the district lost a lawsuit from parents of a 7 year-old…

I would make sure that my paraprofessional is well aware of what his or her role are within the classroom and also what they are responsible for and whom. Some roles that they could help take a part in, within the classroom is that they can help find resources to implement within the room, but it is ultimately, me as the teacher’s ultimate decision. It is good to get other ideas too, because they are a part of the room as well. A responsibility, that I could let them know that they are in charge of is, supervising students. This can range from different things, but a couple may be, hall duty, bus duty, lunch duty, and other activities that go on.…

Nurses are the backbones of any clinic or hospital sites. They provide health care in the best of their ability to help their patients but also be there for them as a person. Compassion and tolerance is key to being a nurse. There is no point of caring for other human beings especially those who are ill, if you can not be CARING. Nurses are just as important as any physician, just because they didn't earn a PhD, nurses are still just as helpful as any doctor in the medical field.…

After realizing my passion for children, I scoured the realm of careers until I found one I knew was for me. This career that I had looked so long and hard for was physical therapy. I am very fond of what physical therapy stands for and it’s more holistic approach to medicine. I want to specialize in pediatrics because I love kids and it requires you to be very creative with their plan of care. Since children require more instruction and don’t pick up on concepts as quick as adults, you have to know how to talk to them.…

According to Merriam-Webster (2018), a partnership is a relationship resembling a legal partnership and usually involving close cooperation between parties having specified and joint rights and responsibilities. In the classroom, the paraprofessional and the teacher mutual interests are to create a helpful classroom that helps students learn and make the experiences of the children in the classroom more gratifying. When I work with new teachers, I always communicate with them about their classroom dynamics. As a paraprofessional, I can set an example of positive behavior in the classroom by being a role model of positive behavior.…
