Paramecium Research Paper

Decent Essays
For a one celled organism, a Paramecium has a lot of ways they respond in certain situations. For one example, when they bump into something, they actually keep turning until they find a safe path around. They look around for a while, and when they find a good place, like with food or something, they stay there as long as possible. They normally prefer warm water and try to stay away from the colder water. (I know this should go with the way they eat, but I’m going to try to put it into both because it’s kind of both.) Because bacteria make acidity in the water, they look for acidity in the water. They have little spikes called trichocysts that they can be used for self-defense. If danger comes near them, the paramecium can make the trichocysts
