Paragraph On My Ideal Classroom

Superior Essays
My Ideal Classroom It has been a long and bumpy ride throughout my college career, I have spent the last five years working hard and overcoming adversity to become a teacher and the fact of the matter is, it is almost here. The moment I have been working for is right around the corner, next semester we will begin our full time student teaching. If that does not scare you then let this sink in, a year from now we will be in our own classroom with our own class. Although there is still some time until then, we should really begin to get an idea of what our classroom will look like. While understanding that there is a high chance we will not have the resources and funds to create our actual “ideal classroom” it is good to think about and imagine …show more content…
Barnett’s and probably differs from everyone’s. Many would say that is it out of this world, literally. My ideal classroom with be based off of a space station. First off I would want my doors to be circular cut doors where everyone would have to crawl into the classroom. I would also like circular windows, allowing a lot of natural light. Next seating, for desks I want two big tables across from each other where everyone can see each other and then chairs surrounding the tables. This will allow the students to see each other and work face to face among one another. Also for more seating I want little stools in rows for the students to sit on when we are in front of the white/smart board, rather than them being on the floor this gives them the chance to sit in rows in an organized form and prevents them from having to look up at the board. My desk would be next to the smart board and it would be the “Captain’s Quarters.” In the back of the room, I want a locker/cubby areas for all the students, so they could store their belongings there and get only what they need when they need it. Students will be allowed to move back and forth from their as desired as long as it is for a legitimate reason. I would also like a full kitchen area near the locker/cubby area. This will allow students to put their stuff in the fridge, have a microwave, a sink and also extra storage space for me. I would have three main centers, a reading center where students could relax on couches and read, a science center, which would be the best of the best and include a sitting area for people to sit and discuss things together there, and the last center would be the student’s original seats, the two table circle where they sit. The classroom colors would be very different than others, the ceiling would be painted as if it was the starry sky, the walls would be grey and the floor as well, this might be plain to you but it is very identical to what you would

I believe that in order to have a successful classroom, a teacher must implement a variety of classroom management strategies to ensure that from September until June every single student gets the best education that he/she deserves. Even before the students arrive, one of the first things a teacher needs to do is make the classroom a warm, welcoming and safe place for each individual student. I want to make sure that from the first moment the students enter the classroom until the last moment before they leave that they will feel comfortable asking questions to both their peers and I. In addition, I would like my future students to feel like they can be themselves and at the same time accept their peers for who they are. When I do have…
