The campus scavenger hunt assignment in the beginning of the semester was a huge help in getting familiar with the different buildings and locations across the university. Having a class designed for students new to the university was in itself very valuable, for it provided a place where information about basic college life could be provided, as well as useful tips. The Assignment that has had the Most Impact on me so Far In my first semester of going back to college, after having been out for over ten years, I took Business English, taught by, May Daniel. This class was a long-distance learning class and started at 4:30 and ended at 5:50 p.m. Mrs. Daniel, told us about our assignments on the first day and one of them was a portfolio project that would be due on the last days of the semester. This assignment included making a resume, a cover letter, a recommendation letter, a cover sheet and a report giving details about the career we are hoping to achieve after graduations and then we had to make it into a PowerPoint presentation to present to the class.…

At home, it is difficult to seek quietness, comfort, and resources. The college atmosphere facilitates the work I have to accomplish day-to-day. College is one of those things that is frowned upon if you do not attend, but it shouldn’t be: nearly 50 percent of college students dropout. There is a lot of controversy on whether college is worth the effort, the time, and the money. It’s not, if you think about it, the Federal government has backed over $1 trillion in student loans to young adults who are unemployed, underemployed, and will likely never have the funds to pay it back.
