A family safari in the heart of the Masai Mara is an amazing experience with exhilarating activities for the entire family to enjoy, memories made together that will last a lifetime, and opportunities to learn and grow together.
Day 1
Upon your arrival at Olkiombo Airstrip, you will be met by our skilled Maasai guide ready to take you through your first game drive en-route to our camp. Cruise through the acacia-spotted savannah of the Masai Mara in a 4x4 vehicle. The park is famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the big Five Lion, elephant, rhino, Cape buffalo and leopard. Watch out for herds of wildebeest, zebras, antelopes, and other game animals. Arrive for lunch at Basecamp Masai Mara (BCMM), located along the banks of the Talek River, the natural border to the Maasai Mara National Reserve. Later on, you will have time to unpack and settled in as you explore your surroundings - our tents have wonderful features and you can even have an outdoor shower which is a truly unique bush experience. Your guide will take you through the savanna in search for great predators and perhaps even the lion cubs. On the plains watch out for the enormous herds of grazing animals, plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs. Later, enjoy a bush breakfast at leisure as you take in the breathtaking views of the Mara plains. Continue exploring the bush in pursuit of the elephants, lions, leopards, and cheetahs that thrive in the conservancy’s grasslands and acacia woodlands as you head back to camp. Arrive at the camp, you may wish to relax in your comfortable room as you wait for lunch. Enjoy a 3-course lunch and have the rest of the day is at leisure. Opt for either a short camp walk or another evening game drive and then complete your perfect African evening with a wonderful meal under the African
