The Department of Homeland Security was integrated into 22 federal departments and agencies throughout the United States. Homeland Security integrated with Paragon systems in the year 1993 with the State of Alabama being one of their contracted divisions. Other federal departments include the Coast Guard, FEMA, Customs and Border Protection, Immigration and Citizenship Services and the Transportation Security Agencies. Paragon mission goal is to serve support and protect the United States. Over the years Paragon has become one of most dependable service of security today. Homeland Security specialize in top-secret government assignments. DHS is secretive to the point that no one knows how many employees actually work for the company. There was an investigation finding that Homeland security has at least 1,271 government agencies and around 1,931 private companies around the United States. The company has thousands of people that hold security clearance and top secret clearance. Over the years employees adjudication process had such along hold time. There has yet been a solution to this problem..Homeland Security has a high turnover rate. The high turn over is from weapons qualifications and re certification class requirements that employees are having a difficult time passing. …show more content…
The calculated amount that it takes for each GHS officer to be train is estimated at $8,000 a year. The most important issue is finding out the how to resolve the high turnover rate. The goal for DHS is to conduct a more intense training when it comes to weapons qualification and certifications. A survey was conducted for employees to be able to receive enough information that would give feedback as to how the Supervisors and Project Manager are interacting to the way the company plans to make chances.
