Mary, I like your post and it made me wonder about the future of nursing and health care. Do or have you had any personal “paradigm shifts” that have made an impact on your career or others’? I had a short discussion with a person in the elevator today. I asked him wondered what it would be like 30 years from now. He responded that we were already supposed to be in hover crafts and no longer in cars. I agree with Mary, that phasing out the licensed vocational nurse, diploma nurse, and associate degree nurse are a must to enhance the quality of nursing.
