LBGTQ PRARADE
Gezz! This must be one of the hottest days of the summer thus far and a beautiful day for a parade. I arrive at 10:00 am inquired from everyone where the speakers would be presenting, I was directed to the city water park. I sat down have way into my journey from Broad and High street to the water park. While sitting on a bench gathering my thoughts a young lady with a sheet of paper in her hands stop and asked me to sign a petition to outlaw gerrymandering in Ohio, after our last class this was a pleasant surprise. So, after signing the petition I continued my way to the water park where a lot of vendors were located. I have not heard any speakers nor have I witnessed a parade. So far this has an entertaining venue, too bad

But from my point of view being a straight Black man who has never attended a Pride Parade, I thought it to be a unique learning experience. I had cleared my mind of any pre-judgmental that were placed there by the media and was ready to experience this event. All I identified with was some people whose sexual orientation was different from mine that deserved all the rights and privileges of any other U.S. citizen. The parade first had me wondering why a parade was necessary to show pride in your sexual orientation? Then I remember an old All in the Family episode where Archie had called a Black a boy and the Black man responded by saying don’t call me boy, I don’t like that. Archie’s respond was that he didn’t mean anything by it because he had been called boy but he never made a big deal of it, the Black man responded saying he (Archie) never had too! That made me put the parade in a more positive prospective and made me remorisk about the civil rights movement in which I was a participant. Civil rights are obvious because of skin color; racist can see that one is black and a man. LBGTQ rights are not as obvious because with LBGTQ people it is often not possible to recognize a LBGTQ individual. With civil rights, Black people were denied the vote, access to loans, housing and jobs and to my knowledge these practices are not as prevalent in the LBGTQ cause. But

Well, despite the victory today, if Santa Anna escapes, he has the remainder of the Mexican Army, some 5000 men, nearby that could march quickly to San Jacinto and probably cause Sam Houston and his 1000-1500 men to resume his retreat across Texas. Otherwise, if we capture Santa Anna, who was not only the General of the Mexican Army but also the Dictator of Mexico, we can end the war here.…

This day became an unofficial holiday of sorts for all of Harlem. Many black school children were dismissed from school so that they could attend the parade. The parade became a marker of African American service to the nation, a frequent point of reference for those campaigning for civil rights. Herbert Hoover, head of the Commission for Relief in Belgium famously said, “This parade ushered in the Harlem Renaissance and the New Negro”. However, change was far from instantaneous.…

My advice to makayla is to never get stuck on one question no longer than five minutes. It's okay to skip a question and come back to it later once you have answer all of the other questions. It's also okay to guess intelligently on some of the questions. I feel that you shouldn't always linger on the same questions, because that can cause you to loose most of you time on the test. John When writing I think John should just write everything out first step-by-step.…

It was a celebration of the “Southern White strength and the power of the White”. On the Backstory podcast, it was said that the people of this celebration acted as if they, “didn’t know they had lost”. America should not stand for this view of white supremacy. It declares equality to all, no matter the race.…

If Winston's newspaper is demolishing the use of bigger words, than why even publish his newspaper? He shouldn't have to “dumb down” his intelligence just so people could understand it. Throughout the book it is also explained that the people are under tight surveillance and the government also restricts what can or cannot be said or released to the public. Why would the public want to follow such a monarchy type of government? Are they scared to speak up against the government?…

The issue of declawing is being made more obvious to the horrors it can cause to your beloved feline friend. When an onychectomy, otherwise known as a declaw, is performed it is equal to cutting off your finger at the first knuckle. The bone of the third phalanx is removed, it is not just cutting the nail off. Cat's nails retract, by cutting into these muscles and tendons you risk serious long-term physical and emotional impacts. 61 of 163 cats experienced chronic pain for 1-42 days after the surgery ("American Veterinary Medical Association", 2016).…

Another source says something similar, that “on the first anniversary of the Stonewall riot, the first major Gay Pride Parade took place in New York City” (“The Stonewall Riots”). Pride parades are a major part of the LGBT community. So much so, that Tyrone C. Marshall Jr. discusses it in his article “DoD 's Pride Month Celebration Highlights LGBT Leadership.”…

Despite the new outburst of year-round schooling across the nation, I have the firm belief that we should retain the traditional system. Most schools who have switched to the year round calendar switched back to the traditional one because the anticipated instructional advantages haven’t materialized. In some cases, it even results in a drop of one to two percentile points in national rank for reading, math, and language scores, compared to a traditional calendar. It is not a good idea to keep making this change.…

Do you think students should have their full week off for Thanksgiving? Well I know I do and my plan is in this essay is to show you why we should have our full weekend for Thanksgiving. My first reason is we shouldn't because if you take Monday and Tuesday you mess up family's that have planned to go somewhere they can't and they have to cancel and the bad part is those family's might not get their money back. And my lead to this is one day in fourth grade we had 30 students and like fifteen checked out on a day that was a Student/Staff holiday because we used our last snow day.…
